The city of St. Petersburg, fresh from celebrating its illustrious 300-year anniversary with guests from across the world, then played host to Russian and international visitors for the Pro Light & Sound/Musikmesse at the Lenexpo fairgrounds, from June 18 to 20.
The exhibition occupied 4 pavilions, divided into acoustical instruments, a quite hall, a semi-loud hall and a loud hall.
Robe Show Lighting was represented by its local partner, Translight, in what was undoubtedly the most relaxed atmosphere of the quiet hall. The booth of sister, Multi Music, was located in the semi-loud hall, specifically addressing musicians, and also with a number of Robe products on display.
Gregory Magrachev, director of Translight, was happy with the volume of traffic to the booth and the overall visitor quality. “This year, the St. Petersburg show really stepped up a gear in terms of visitors” he stated, "We usually get a lot of spectators, students and general public, but I this time recognized plenty of serious professionals and companies visiting this show. We felt that the profile of Translight’s visitors was a good reflection of the company’s dedication to the rental, theatre and club lighting business. "
From the 1980’s, Magrachev had worked with Sojuzkultmontaz, a governmental institution which deals with planning, supplying and servicing lighting equipment for theatres and concert halls. In 1995, Magrachev moved to Peresvet, a private company, and in 1997, he started his own company, Translight, which became a great success as he supported his former colleagues in the theatre world.
The company has its own rental department and is now planning to invest in a series of Robe Wash 575 XT and ColorSpot 1200 AT moving heads. Various Robe equipment will soon to be specified and used in many club and disco installations throughout St. Petersburg.
Harry von den Stemmen, Robe’s new International Sales Manager visited the exhibition and commented, “Russia is a very important market for Robe, and St. Petersburg a strategic location. We are pleased and proud to have an excellent partner like Translight in this essential territory, and look forward to a fruitful long term relationship”.
