Robe at PLASA 2003

Robe Show Lighting enjoyed its first PLASA show in its own right, producing arguably the most attractive, eye-catching, well designed and lit stand (designed and lit by Nathan Wan of Robe UK) of the 2003 exhibition that was held at Earls Court in September.

Hosting the stand along with Robe UK, Robe Show Lighting used the opportunity as a launch-pad for several important new products – including the ColorSpot 575 AT and ColorSpot 250 moving yoke fixtures, the ColorSpot 1200 E with electronic ballast, the fabulously retro Dominator 1200 XT centrepiece effect, and the ImageSpot 250 AT image projector. Robe also showcased other new innovations like the ColorSpot 1200 and the ColorMix 240 launched earlier in the year.

As well as meeting and greeting its new and existing customers, Robe also used the show as an opportunity to catch up with many of its international distributors who visited the show. Highlight of the Sunday evening was a high profile, fun, social event that started with a round-London sightseeing trip on two open topped double-decker buses, and continued on a riverboat trip up and down the Thames, taking in more of London’s famous waterside landmarks.

Attended by over 150 people including press, an exceedingly good time was had by all. The stand also featured a highly active social area and a Pilsner Urquell Bar, illustrating the second most important Czech Republic export after Robe Show Lighting!!

Harry von den Stemmen, Robe’s International Business Development Managers reports, “PLASA 2003 was the busiest trade show ever for me”, explaining that several new important deals were cemented at the show, “We are consolidating our distribution network all the time, and there’s an enormous spirit amongst the Robe family” he affirms.

Robe Show Lighting MD Josef Valchar was also suitably impressed, “Feedback and comments from the show were overwhelmingly positive” he states “The Robe brand is generally perceived as reliable, well engineered and good value for money”.

Confirmed sales at the show included the first ColorSpot 1200 fixtures to go into UK hire stock, which were purchased by Norwich, UK based Viking Lighting.
